Mobile phone ban while driving now law.
This is now law and as of November 1 2009 it will be illegal to hold your mobile phone to make and receive calls while driving.
There will be fines of $80 and 20 demerit points for offenders.
Handsfree kits are the way to go if you want to avoid getting pulled over.
Compulsory Immobilisers for imported cars.
This is in place now. All cars imported into NZ this year must have as a minimum an immobiliser fitted.
